What is TCPA?
The Telephone Consumer Protection Act, the federal law governing telemarketing calls, autodialed calls and text messages.
The TCPA requires prior express written consent before making marketing calls or texts using an autodialer or prerecorded voice. Violations can carry statutory damages of $500 to $1,500 per call or text, so buyers should only work leads with documented consent.
